2023 Membership Information

For 2023, the following rules apply:  Please read this carefully!

  1. F-18 Shooter2023 renewals will be closed on December 31, 2022, and all renewal applications have to be postmarked by December 31, 2022. Renewal applications postmarked after this date will not be processed. Any member who did not renew in time will be considered a new member and pay the new membership rate of $100 plus the $100 initiation fee for a total of $200. 
  2. If you're Joining after July 1st, 2023 you can join for a Pro-Rated fee: New members pay the new membership at the Pro-rated fee of $50 plus the $100 initiation fee for a total of $150.
  3. You Must have an AMA Open Membership valid from the date of application through Dec 31, 2023.  If your membership expires on any date prior to Dec 31, 2023, you will need to contact AMA to add a yearly renewal that extends your expiration date past Dec 31, 2023.  
  4. Park Pilot Program Memberships are not accepted at the PVMAC, it must be a current full open AMA membership.
  5. All members are required to provide a paper copy of their FAA registration with their membership application. The date must not be expired at the time of renewal.
  6. Any membership application received without the correct payment amount included will be returned to the sender. Renewals are contingent upon you sending the correct application, proof of valid AMA Membership through Dec 31, 2023, proof of current FAA registration, and payment in full mailed and postmarked before December 31, 2022
  7. A Fire Extinguisher is required and must be placed in the Pit With you while Flying at the Prado Field.

  8. All members are required to clip their membership cards on their shirts to be visible to all while flying at the Prado field.   The main reason for this is that it will make it much easier to identify members vs. non-members. Also, the badge will make it easier to remember everyone's name, making it a much friendlier place at the fields.
  9. All members are required to mark each aircraft with the assigned unique registration number before it is operated at the PVMAC field, as required by the FAA.
  10. It is the responsibility of all members to request the $20 day-use fee from non-members.
  11. Aircraft are not allowed to fly above 400 feet (AMA Guidelines apply). This rule is strictly enforced. DESCEND IMMEDIATELY WHEN FULL-SCALE AIRCRAFT ARE FLYING IN THE AREA.

All PVMAC members are required to have a an AMA Open membership valid from the date of application through Dec 31, 2023. If you do not have an AMA membership and would like to be a PVMAC member please apply for one now.

Membership application checklist of required attachments

  1. Signed & completed membership form - One application per new or renewing member.
    2023 New Membership form
  2. One of the following items listed below (a to d) which shows proof of Open AMA Membership valid from date of application through Dec 31, 2023 or later.
    1. Copy of AMA card.
    2. Duplicate AMA card provided on your AMA renewal paperwork
    3. Copy of payment receipt. This receipt must show AMA expiration date.
    4. Copy of membership verification from the AMA website found Here

  3. A paper copy of your valid FAA registration card. Must not be expired at the time of renewal. Login Here to print your FAA UAS card. 
  4. Check, Money Order, Cashier’s Check. Made payable to PVMAC. It is recommended that you do not send cash through the mail.
  5. (new members only) Picture (head shot-Full face in Color)-This will be printed on your membership Card.  If Digital, In JPG format.

 Any application for new or renewal membership which is missing any of items 1 to 5 will be returned unprocessed.
